Motorcyclist dies in collision with SUV on Center Point Parkway

A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with an SUV on Center Point Parkway.

The accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday near Cheyenne Drive. The accident scene is near Parkway Square and Serra Chevrolet.

Apparently he was traveling north when a vehicle drove onto the road in front of him. The motorcyclist swerved to avoid the vehicle and entered oncoming southbound traffic, where he was struck by the Chevrolet Tahoe.

The fatally injured victim remained stuck under the truck. He died at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the SUV and two other people, including a teenager, were taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

Jefferson County Sheriff's officials have closed a portion of the road indefinitely.

Several family members of the deceased are on site, just feet away from their loved one. Center Point Fire was called back to the scene shortly after 5 p.m. to check on a grieving family member who was in distress.
