Watch the incredible moment two domestic dogs fight a pair of lions to protect their home

THIS is the spectacular moment two loyal dogs team up to fend off some fearsome intruders.

Video surveillance footage from Gujarat, India, shows the lions running to the gate of a house and attacking two small guard dogs in a fierce battle in the middle of the night.

The big cat begins to frantically grab the cute dog with his paws from behind the gate, while another puppy rushes over to help defend his friend.

The relatively small dogs bark wildly to intimidate the animal, which is almost four times their size, in the Indian village of Thoradi.

The iron gate opens a crack as the predator pushes it open, and another lion comes out and tries to force its way into the building.

But the endangered lions dramatically charge into the nearby bushes, as footage from Stuff NZ shows.

One of the black dogs bravely ventures outside to search his surroundings for safety, and it appears as if both lions have actually escaped.

Then an old man comes out with a flashlight and confirms that the predators have left the place.

Previously, hair-raising footage was seen in the US showing a dog in a living room in Oklahoma chewing on a lithium-ion power bank.

In a clip released by the Tulsa Fire Department, the white dog was sitting on a mattress and enjoying what he thought was a sweet treat.

But suddenly, sparks of fire flew into the air and billowing smoke enveloped the sofa and mattress as the charger burst into flames.

This caused the dogs to run across the room to seek shelter behind the gray sofa.

Rescue workers then brought the traumatized puppies to safety while they assessed the damage to the house.

Apparently two fire engines were used to fight the fire.

The Tulsa Fire Department confirmed that the home sustained significant damage but both puppies were unharmed, citing the battery as the cause.

They said, “Be careful – you may have items in your home that can cause disaster if not handled properly!”

“We were called out to a house fire in May that was caused by a damaged lithium-ion battery.

“Although the house was significantly damaged, her two dogs and cat were able to escape unharmed through a dog flap.

“Fire departments across the country are encountering fires caused by these batteries. We want to educate the public about the use, safe storage and proper disposal of these potentially dangerous batteries.”
