Skai Jackson arrested after domestic violence dispute

Skai Jackson was arrested over the weekend after an argument with her fiancé.

The actress and former child star was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence on Friday, a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesperson confirmed to USA TODAY on Tuesday. Jackson, 22, was arrested during a trip to Universal Studios Hollywood.

“A domestic incident occurred at Universal Studios Theme Park involving Skai Jackson,” an LASD spokesperson told the Los Angeles Times in a statement. “Based on the initial investigation, it was determined that Ms. Jackson was the primary offender and was arrested for minor domestic violence.”

USA TODAY has reached out to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office and a representative for Jackson for comment.

Security guards at Universal Studios reportedly alerted police after seeing Jackson shove her boyfriend more than once, according to TMZ. Authorities then reviewed surveillance footage from the LA theme park that allegedly showed Jackson shoving the unidentified victim, according to People Magazine and LAT.

According to the LASD spokesman, no injuries were reported in the altercation.

Jackson was then taken to the LASD's West Hollywood station for booking and released a few hours later.

Jackson is best known for her roles in the Disney Channel sitcoms “Jessie” and “Bunk'd.” She recently starred in the Warren Skeels thriller “The Man in the White Van.”
