Bridgeport man killed in shooting at Greene Homes apartment complex

BRIDGEPORT — Police say a 45-year-old man was shot multiple times and targeted at the Greene Homes complex Wednesday evening.

Police were called to Building 4 of the apartment complex around 10:15 p.m. because a person had reportedly been shot, Bridgeport Police Captain Kevin Gilleran said.

When officers arrived, they found the 45-year-old city resident lying face down in a fifth-floor hallway, Gilleran said.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and confirmed the victim's death, Gilleran said. Police have not released the man's name.

The Criminal Investigation Bureau's Homicide Unit was notified and took over the investigation with assistance from the Forensic Identification Division, Gilleran said.

“In this incident, multiple shots were fired and it appears the victim was targeted,” he added.

Anyone with information about the fatal shooting is asked to contact Detective Thomas Harper at 203-581-5239 or call the tip line at 203-576-TIPS.
