“Coronation Street” star Lucy Fallon has spoken about the tragic loss of a child.

She bravely spoke about her experiences in the latest episode of ITVbe's Drama Queens, a show about the off-screen lives of the soap's top stars.

Viewers saw a confessional interview in which Lucy spoke about her miscarriage before she paused briefly because she started to cry.

“The first year Ryan and I were together, we got pregnant and we were really, really excited,” she recalled. “We booked an ultrasound and… I think I'm about to get excited.”

Lucy then pulled herself together and explained that she went to the first ultrasound with her partner Ryan Ledson and received heartbreaking news from her nurse.

“We went for the first scan and I didn’t expect anything to go wrong, and they [the nurse] told us there was no heartbeat and the baby had died,” Lucy recalls.

The couple would later welcome a child – their son Sonny Jude was born in January 2023. Viewers saw the couple celebrate their birthday in the episode “Drama Queens.”

“I just feel like we went through some tougher times before Sonny was born, and I think when I was pregnant with Sonny, I was filled with so much fear,” she explained.

“When you look back and think, 'Wow, what we created,' it just feels even more special.”
