Bossier Sheriff's Dept arrested man on weapons and drug charges

BOSSIER PARISH, LA- Bossier Sheriff's Joint Criminal Investigation Team arrests Gibsland man on drug and weapons charges

On Sunday, August 11, members of the Bossier Sheriff's Office Joint Criminal Apprehension Team (JCAT) arrested a Gibsland man for possession of several varieties of dangerous narcotics and a stolen Glock handgun.

Stephen Randolph Griffith40, was stopped for a traffic violation in the 1900 block of East Texas Street in Bossier City by a JCAT member. A Bossier Sheriff's Office detection dog unit was called to the scene and reported a positive odor for narcotics in Griffith's vehicle.

A search of the vehicle revealed 40.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 6 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 5 capsules of suspected powder cocaine, 3.1 grams of marijuana, various drug paraphernalia, and a stolen Arkansas Glock 19 pistol.

Griffith was arrested and booked into the Bossier Maximum Security Correctional Facility. He was charged with possession of Schedule I marijuana, two counts of possession of Schedule II marijuana with intent to resell, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of a stolen firearm, illegal carrying of a weapon with CDS, and two traffic violations. Griffith's bail was set at $70,500.
