Teenager arrested after series of break-ins in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Nashville Police say a 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries at Nashville businesses.

According to police, stolen vehicles were used to ram the facades of the stores, causing tens of thousands of dollars in damage.

Thomas Membreno-Rodriquez was arrested during a traffic stop on Wednesday afternoon. According to the police report, he was arrested for driving without a license and possession of marijuana.

During an interview with investigators, Membreno-Rodriquez admitted that he and his accomplices were responsible for six burglaries in Nashville dating back to early July.

  • August 5 – Burglary of large caliber weapons and training equipment, 2611 Lebanon Pike
  • August 6 – Burglary at VapeZone, 519 Donelson Pike
  • August 6 – Burglary at Vape USA, 2809 Nolensville Pike
  • August 13 – Burglary at Vape World Smoke Shop, 841 Briley Parkway
  • August 13 – Burglary at Smoke for Less, 1105 N. Gallatin Pike

According to police, in addition to the Nashville cases, Membreno-Rodriquez also admitted to being involved in a business burglary in Lebanon and one in Nolensville.

Membreno-Rodriquez is charged with five counts of burglary, one count of attempted burglary, four counts of grand theft, four counts of vandalism, possession of marijuana and driving without a license.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and they are working to identify and arrest the other people involved.
