Duluth fight fans are promised 40 rounds of fast-paced boxing on the Elks' five-fight all-star fight schedule at the Curling Rink Arena. Promoters say fans will experience some of the fastest fights they've seen on local cards in months.

Police arrested a 33-year-old Duluth man who admitted breaking into a mink farm on Old North Shore Road, releasing more than 200 mink and taking a shotgun and a bag of mink feed. Mrs. Jessie Kane, the ranch's owner, estimates the damage at “many thousands of dollars.”
