BTS'S Suga He is currently being investigated for drunk driving. According to several Korean news reports, he was found lying on the ground in Hannam-dong. Police nearby, who smelled alcohol, came to his aid.

When the story came to light on August 7, 2024, JTBC was the first to release alleged video surveillance footage of the incident.

JTBC embroiled in scandal as fake CCTV footage continues to fuel BTS Suga backlash

On August 15, JTBC again reported on Suga's drunk driving in its latest evening news. This time, JTBC referred to the originally released footage and admitted that it was false.

JTBC released surveillance camera footage showing a scooter on the main road opposite Nine One Hannam, from the same time the next day when police found Suga.

However, after the police investigated the routes, etc., it was confirmed that it was not Suga who was driving the vehicle in the said video.

Due to the confusion created by the various video recordings published in the press, there has been much discussion about his vehicle. According to the latest statement from the police, Suga was riding an E-brand folding electric scooter. In order for personal mobility vehicles to be subject to the traffic rules applicable to electric scooters, they must be limited to 25 km/h. A police officer explained to the press that Suga's vehicle was limited to 30 km/h, so his case fell under the traffic rules applicable to motorized bicycles.

Currently, JTBC has yet to apologize for the flawed surveillance footage. You can read a full breakdown of Suga's case below.
