Actor-model and entrepreneur Anushka Ranjan believes that freedom is the “opportunity to be yourself.” The 34-year-old will return to acting after five years with her next show Mixture.

On the occasion of India's 78th Independence Day, we asked Anushka for her thoughts on freedom for our special segment – Actors On Azaadi. Speaking about what freedom means to her, she said exclusively on Zoom, “I think being able to express your opinion to your friends, family and anyone close to you is freedom. Freedom to be the silliness you want to be or the seriousness you want to be without worrying about what others say about you. I think that's my version of freedom.”

Anushka, who often makes headlines for appearing in social media posts of her best friends Alia Bhatt and Vaani Kapoor, is the elder sister of actor Akansha Ranjan Kapoor. Her photos and videos never fail to give her fans friendship goals.

Anushka expressed her gratitude for having such friends and family who respect her freedom. She added, “I am very blessed to have a family, friends, husband and everyone who has given me or respected the freedom that I would like to have in my life in terms of everything that I am going through. And I wish that everyone finds that freedom in their life too.”

Anushka is married to actor Aditya Seal, who is currently seen in the latest film Khel Khel My alongside her friend Vaani Kapoor. The film also stars Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, Fardeen Khan and others.

Anushka made her acting debut with Weddingpullav in 2015. She also appeared in Batti Gul Meter Chalu (2018). She was one of the leading actresses in AltBalaji's web show Fitrat (2020), which also starred Krystle D'Souza and her husband Aditya Seal.
