Man arrested after police chase in Shiawassee and Genesee County

FLINT TWP., Michigan (WNEM) – A police chase through Shiawassee and Genesee counties resulted in the arrest of a man who had multiple warrants against him.

Officers with the Flint Township Police Department became aware of a chase leading from Shiawassee County into Genesee County at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14.

The suspect rammed patrol cars in Shiawassee County and fled from sheriff's office officers, police said.

The pursuit was called off due to excessive speed and reckless driving after the suspect entered Clayton Township, police said.

The suspect eventually collided with several vehicles at the intersection of Corunna and Dutcher Road, police said. He then fled the scene of the accident and hid in the woods.

According to police, he was tracked down shortly thereafter by Michigan State Police, Flint Township officers and police dogs.

The man was taken into custody and extradited back to Shiawassee County, police said, and was also being investigated on several warrants.

According to police, all injuries were minor.
