Hagerstown Police Announce Additional Arrests in Connection to Jefferson Street Shooting

Local authorities have reported further developments in the investigation into a shooting that occurred last month on Jefferson Street. Hagerstown police have charged 20-year-old Jaleel Holmes and his 36-year-old mother Schacole Rolle, both Hagerstown residents, in connection with the incident.

On August 8, Holmes was charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit assault, and numerous weapons offenses. At the time these charges were filed, he was recovering in Shock Trauma from injuries sustained during the shooting.

Rolle was arrested on August 14 with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service field offices in Baltimore and West Virginia. She faces the same charges as her son.

In addition, Rashawd Clemente, 31, also of Hagerstown, has already been charged with attempted premeditated and negligent homicide, first- and second-degree assault, and various weapons offenses in connection with the same incident.

According to police, the charges stem from an argument that escalated into a shootout in which Holmes was the only one shot.
