PAK vs BAN: Mushtaq Ahmed is convinced that Bangladesh spinners will cause problems for Pakistan – International

Mushtaq Ahmed backed Bangladesh's spin bowlers and highlighted their potential as match-winning players ahead of the upcoming two-match Test series against Pakistan.

The series will begin in Rawalpindi, with the first Test taking place on August 21. It will then move on to the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, where the second Test match will take place from August 30 to September 3.

At a press conference on Thursday, Mushtaq, who is Bangladesh's spin bowling consultant, said the final composition of the team would be made after assessing the conditions in Rawalpindi.

“We will decide the combination after we have been to Rawalpindi and assessed the conditions there,” said Mushtaq.

“Spinners play an important role in Test cricket and their importance cannot be denied.”

The former Pakistani leg-spinner praised Bangladesh's spinners and the country's bowling talent as a whole.

“Bangladesh's spinners are an important part of their team and real match winners. The good thing is that the country produces good bowlers,” he added.

“When conditions are favourable for fast bowlers, we also have good pacers.”

He also thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for inviting the visiting team to arrive early and take part in pre-series training sessions, especially in view of the political unrest in Bangladesh.
