Wally Amos of Famous Amos dies at 88, Cookie mogul passes away after battle with dementia | RIP, Wally Amos | Just Jared: Celebrity news and gossip

Wally Amosthe founder of the famous and popular biscuit brand Famous Amos, has sadly passed away at the age of 88.

His children said in a statement via CBS News: “Our father inspired a generation of entrepreneurs. With his Panama hat, his kazoo and his boundless optimism, Famous Amos was a great American success story and a source of black pride. It is also part of our family history, for which we will be forever grateful and proud.”

The website reports that he died “peacefully” at his home on Wednesday (August 14) after a battle with dementia. He was surrounded by his loved ones, including his wife Caroland children Sarah, Michael, Gregory And Shawn.

He built his cookie brand from his bakery in 1975 to a national sensation. He eventually sold the brand. In 2016, he made a famous appearance on an episode of The Shark Cat to get investment from the Sharks for his latest cookie project, Cookie Kahuna. We've embedded the clip below.
