Police summon BTS' SUGA for his DUI incident

Police will soon summon BTS member SUGA for questioning after he was caught driving an electric scooter while drunk.

On August 15, police announced that they would coordinate the timeline for the subpoena investigation. Police stated: “Now all that remains is the subpoena investigation, and we are coordinating the schedule.”

Just one day earlier, surveillance camera footage was released showing SUGA riding an electric scooter and falling on the sidewalk.

Surveillance video shows SUGA falling as he turns left into the driveway of the apartment complex, and his helmet immediately falls off. Police officers patrolling the area detect the odor of alcohol and administer a breathalyzer test. His blood alcohol content is over 0.2%, which is the level at which his license is revoked.

According to police, SUGA was riding a foldable electric scooter.

A police officer explained: “The electric scooter Sugar was riding had a top speed of 30 km/h and is classified as a motorised bicycle rather than a personal transport device, so he could be prosecuted..”

JTBC reported video footage of the scooter travelling on the road opposite Nine One Hannam around the same time the day after SUGA was caught by police. However, after investigating the route, etc., police confirmed that the driver in the footage was not SUGA.
