He tried to kill me in Dothan

DOTHAN, Alabama (WTVY) – Lindsay Shiver, the former beauty queen accused of a bizarre and alleged murder-for-hire plot to kill her estranged husband, was abused by her new boyfriend in Dothan, court records show.

According to these documents, Dothan police charged 35-year-old Dorsey Ryan Love of Ashford with strangulation.

In her request for a domestic violence protection order, Shiver claims Love pushed her onto the bed, choked her, tried to smother her with a pillow and threatened to kill her.

She said he had previously abused her on an out-of-state trip, but she did not report the incident to police.

Court records show that jurors indicted Love on three counts this year, including identity theft.

Shiver is also struggling with her own legal problems.

Bahamian police allege she conspired with two men – one of them another boyfriend – to kill her husband, insurance executive Robert Shiver. Robert is now dating Savannah Chrisley, whose parents were television stars and is currently serving a federal prison sentence for their role in a fraud scheme.

Robert and Lindsay Shiver met at Auburn University, where Robert played football. After Auburn, he played briefly for the Atlanta Falcons.

Lindsay Shiver attended high school in Dothan and still maintains ties to the area, but the couple lived in Thomasville, Georgia, and shared a home in the Bahamas before filing for divorce.

Lindsay Shiver, who claims Robert also abused her, is awaiting trial in the Bahamas.
