A defense attorney requested a delay due to lack of evidence at a hearing before D.C. District Superior Court Judge Robert Hildum on August 15.

On August 11 at approximately 12:04 p.m., Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers received a call about a stabbing in the 1800 block of Benning Road, NE. Aquino Boyd, 26, was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

During the hearing, Boyd's attorney Sara Kopecki requested an adjournment because she said she had not received all of the video surveillance footage from the prosecution.

The prosecution issued a standard order for the production of all relevant footage in the case and the defense was satisfied with this measure.

The parties are scheduled to resume on August 21st.
