Mike McCarthy on DeMarvion’s exaggerated injury: “Doesn’t look too serious”

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy confirmed that DeMarvion outshines suffered a hip injury. But the situation “doesn't look too serious.”

Overshown injured his hip in training camp on Wednesday, and his coaches and teammates had every reason to be concerned about him. After all, the former Texas Longhorns star tore his ACL this time last year and had to undergo season-ending knee surgery. Given how hard he had worked to get back on the field, there was real concern for the second-year player.

The linebacker played in the Cowboys' away game against the Rams on Sunday. He made three tackles and also met up again with former Longhorn receiver Jordan Whittington, who now plays for the Rams.

The two shared a snapshot on social media showing the former teammates at SoFi Stadium. The Cowboys linebacker captioned the photo, “Brothers 4 life,” and used an orange heart and hook-'em emoji to emphasize the point.

According to reports from the Cowboys' camp in Oxnard, Overshown was in attendance for Thursday's practice in fancy attire.
