Jason Prigge returns to WOMT Radio after motorcycle accident

The couple recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary as fundraising continues following the devastating motorcycle accident on July 6.

MANITOWOC – Jason Prigge returns to WOMT Radio to continue hosting the Thursday show “After Further Review.”

Seehafer News announced Jason's return on August 15. Jason and Tina Prigge are the show's regular hosts, but had to quit after they both suffered serious injuries in a devastating motorcycle accident in July. Previous host John Jagemann has been filling in for the two during their recovery.

Seehafer News also said that Tina remains in a rehabilitation center in Green Bay, where she is recovering from the loss of two limbs on her left side as a result of the accident.

Jason and Tina were seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on July 6 when a vehicle crossed into their path. The accident occurred near the town of Cecil in Shawano County as the couple was on their way to a vacation in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

In addition to hosting WOMT's “After Further Review” on Thursday mornings, Tina and Jason are known for running Coolest Coast, a media initiative promoting Wisconsin's coastal towns, and Vagabond Creative Studio. They also donate their time to numerous local organizations such as Grow It Forward and the Manitowoc Public Library. Both are self-employed.

In an update on his Facebook page, Jason said he and Tina would celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary on August 14.

“It's not what we had planned (we had planned a trip to the redwoods) but it's still our day even if we have to celebrate it in a hospital,” Jason wrote. “Life has thrown us into a tailspin lately but we're staying strong and I'm still choosing you.”

Shawano woman charged with multiple crimes

Kaitlynn F. Cress, a 29-year-old Shawano woman, is charged with five felony counts after she crossed the center lane and collided with Jason and Tina, who were riding motorcycles, on July 6. Cress was uninjured in the crash.

Cress was charged with two counts of reckless driving causing serious bodily injury, two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment of safety and one count of second-degree reckless endangerment of safety.

According to a criminal complaint, Cress was driving a truck north on County Trunk R after spending her birthday with friends at the river. Two witnesses driving behind Cress told troopers the truck was “all over the road” before she collided with Jason and Tina.

The same witnesses told officers that Cress had been drinking before driving. However, the preliminary breathalyzer test administered to Cress showed a low blood alcohol content and the officer could not detect any physical signs of impairment, the complaint states.

Cress was given a $12,000 bond, which was posted on July 19. Conditions of her bond include having no contact with Jason and Tina and remaining completely sober. Her case is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on October 7 at the Shawano County Courthouse.
