There will be a grueling stretch at home against the Sacramento Kings and Orlando Magic (January 14 and 15) in late January, then another back-to-back at the New Orleans Pelicans and at home against the Miami Heat (January 22-23). As part of a Western Conference tour, the Bucks will play at Utah on January 27, followed by a game at Portland on January 28.

Bucks will not play on Christmas Day

Some pairings were leaked before the full schedule was released.

The Bucks were not part of the big-ticket games on Christmas Day, as they have been for the past six seasons, and this exclusion caused some confusion for Milwaukee superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Bucks' opening game in Philadelphia on October 23 was reported earlier this week by Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Milwaukee's group matches for the Emirates NBA Cup – the relaunched season tournament – were also released earlier this week.

Other top duels

Milwaukee won't have to wait long to see the reigning NBA champions Boston Celtics. The top teams in the Eastern Conference will face off in the first week of the season on October 28 at the TD Garden in Boston, before playing again on November 10 at the Fiserv Forum.

Interestingly, the Bucks' two games against the Dallas Mavericks, who reached the NBA Finals last season, will be on the road on March 1 and at home on March 5, with a trip to Atlanta to play the Hawks.

The Bucks' games against the Lakers – always a highly anticipated duel – will also take place at the same time. They will play on March 13 in Milwaukee and on March 18 in Los Angeles.

The Bucks lost to the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the NBA playoffs last season. The teams' first meeting will take place on November 22 at the Fiserv Forum. This game is part of the group stage of the Emirates NBA Cup.
