Shreveport police exonerate former KTBS news director in sex crimes investigation

An Emmy-winning local news anchor and investigative reporter has been acquitted by Shreveport police on charges of possible sex crimes against children.

KTAL reported during its evening newscast on June 4 that former KTBS news anchor Bill Lunn was the subject of an ongoing police investigation.

During the broadcast, it was revealed that Lunn was caught thanks to the efforts of three local men, Antonio Coleman, Kameron Kennon and Kataurio Grigsby, who claimed their mission was to catch men attempting to have sex with underage girls.

During the investigation, police determined that there was insufficient evidence to bring charges against Lunn.

The investigation uncovered a digital trail that showed the men who reported the incident had tampered with the evidence, said Cpl. Chris Bordelon, Shreveport police spokesman.

“The Shreveport Police Department did not find the evidence sufficient at this time to warrant an arrest,” Bordelon said

Police said the three men were involved in a similar case the following week and were arrested.

According to an email from the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office, there are no charges pending against Lunn at this time or in the near future.

Lunn resigned from his position as news director and anchor on June 4. He had been with KTBS since May 2019 and was promoted to news director in August 2023.
