2 youths arrested for murder of teenager during robbery in South Nashville, police say

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Metro Nashville Police have arrested two teenagers in connection with the murder of another teenager during a robbery in South Nashville earlier this year.

According to MNPD, Htet Sar, 18, and Gabriel Melo-Beltran, 18, were arrested this week in connection with the death of 18-year-old William Rafael Silva.

According to police, Sar and Melo-Beltran were 17 years old at the time of the murder. Both will face charges in juvenile court.

In January, police began investigating Silva's murder. He was taken to hospital and later died.

As he was being dropped off at the hospital, police said two people drove away in a black SUV. Silva's death was the first fatal shooting in 2024.
