Coroner identifies woman who died in Palm Springs car crash on Wednesday

The Riverside County Coroner's Office has determined the identity of a 25-year-old woman who died in a car crash in Palm Springs Wednesday evening.

The accident was reported shortly before 6:40 p.m. near the intersection of Paseo Dorotea and Mesquite Avenue.

According to police, the driver crashed into a palm tree.

“When officers arrived, a woman was standing next to the vehicle. Although she was initially awake and responsive, she later collapsed,” Palm Springs police told News Channel 3. “Paramedics arrived immediately and transported her to a local hospital. Unfortunately, despite all medical efforts, the woman succumbed to her injuries.”

The driver was identified Thursday as Savana Ramirez, 25, of Desert Hot Springs.

Palm Springs Police are investigating the cause of the crash. Witnesses are asked to contact the Palm Springs Police Department Traffic Division at 760-323-8125. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 760-347-7867.
