Man arrested after fatal shooting in Phoenix apartment

PHOENIX (AZFamily) – Police have arrested a man suspected of being involved in a fatal shooting at a Phoenix apartment complex earlier this week.

Police arrested 40-year-old Thomas Draper on Thursday for a shooting that occurred Monday night in east Phoenix near 44th Street and McDowell Road.

When officers arrived at the complex, they found the victim, 24-year-old Jacob Sierra, who was taken to the hospital where he later died.

According to police, a suspect was seen leaving the area in an unidentified car after the shooting.

During the police investigation, McDowell Road was closed in both directions in this area, but it has now reopened.

Draper is charged with first-degree murder.
