Highway 97 northbound south of Sunriver reopened, hours after accident

(Update: Both northbound lanes reopened)

SUNRIVER, Ore. (KTVZ) — A crash closed both northbound lanes of Highway 97 south of Sunriver late Thursday afternoon. The closure remained until one lane was reopened more than two hours later, officials said.

The crash occurred just south of the Sunriver exit at mile marker 153 before 4:30 p.m., and according to ODOT's TripCheck, one northbound lane reopened just before 7 p.m. The other lane reopened later Thursday evening.

ODOT had previously announced that longer delays were to be expected and told drivers that ramps would be affected and that they should “expect slowdowns or diversions for safety reasons.”
