The Hustler will be sold as a Kei SUV in the Japanese market and is expected to help Maruti Suzuki expand its portfolio. The test model spotted on the streets of Delhi was not camouflaged, but the brand logo and name were covered to hide the identity of the model. The launch of the Hustler, which is expected to be launched in India in 2026, suggests that the brand is analyzing the market viability of the model before starting testing.

The new vehicle has a boxy silhouette with large glass surfaces, which is identical to Suzuki's kei car design DNA. The model is based on the brand's Heartect platform. With its overall boxy layout, the product looks like a more compact version of the Wagon R. We can also expect the electric version to join the SUV range in 2027.

As for the powertrain, Hustler is expected to get the 1.0-litre or 1.2-litre petrol engine from the Wagon R. Moreover, the model can also be equipped with a CNG powertrain in the country.

However, there is no official announcement from the brand regarding the launch of the Hustler in the country. The brand is currently conducting testing and more details about the model will be announced in the future. We expect the new model to launch in late 2025, followed by an EV version in 2027. As for the price, the Hustler SUV is likely to cost between Rs 600,000 and Rs 900,000 (on-road, Mumbai).
