Woman arrested after incident on university campus

Louisiana Tech police arrested a 20-year-old woman on August 9 after she allegedly entered a student's room without permission and then slashed the tires of his vehicle.

Taniya K. Jackson of Ruston was arrested for trespassing of an occupied building and simple damage to property after a male student complained.

The victim said Jackson slashed two tires on his car in his presence. The victim provided a video of the incident.


The victim also stated that Jackson entered his apartment without permission. Campus surveillance video confirmed that Jackson entered through a window.

Officers went to a residence on West Alabama Avenue and found Jackson. She admitted to entering the residence through a window without the victim's consent and damaging his tires. She was booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.

Bail was set at $12,500.
