Famous Karlsons ice cream gets a new look and new taste

Food Union has invested EUR 80,000 in improving the visual identity of the Karlsons ice cream brand and developing a new ice cream flavour, company representatives said.

Representatives of the Food Union point out that the brand's range will be supplemented by a third flavor of ice cream with lingonberry jam. Karlsons' visual identity will be improved by creating a new brand logo and improving the design of ice cream packaging.

Ģirts Liniņš, ice cream brand manager at Food Union, notes that the company sold 49% more Karlsons ice cream in the first half of 2024 than in the corresponding period last year.

In 2023, Food Union Group's turnover increased by 12% to 150.2 million euros, while the group's losses decreased by 4.2 times to one million.

The group includes Latvian companies Valmieras piens and Rīgas piena kombināts, to which Rīgas pienaimnieku was added in February 2020, as well as ice cream producer Premia in Estonia, ice cream producer Premier Is in Denmark and ice cream distributor Hjem Is, ice cream producer Isbjrn Is in Norway and ice cream producer Alpin57Lux in Romania. Food Union also owns two dairy and baby food factories in China.
