Driver sentenced to prison – NBC Boston

A woman found guilty five years after a hit-and-run crash in Duxbury, Massachusetts, that killed another woman was sentenced to prison Thursday.

Kristina Blackmore, 43, was convicted on Wednesday of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and negligent homicide in road traffic.

The victim, 46-year-old Andrea Gordon of Duxbury, was jogging on Washington Street on June 9, 2019, when she was hit. She was taken to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, where she succumbed to her injuries two days later.

The vehicle Blackmore was driving was identified after it was seen in surveillance photos. Two days after the crash, police thought she was turning herself in when she arrived at the Duxbury Police Department, but officers soon realized she was there on another matter. She was arrested in the lobby.

Blackmore was sentenced to six to eight years in prison, followed by three years of probation. Upon release, she will be banned from driving, subject to travel restrictions, fined up to $4,000 and required to perform 150 hours of community service.

Kristina Blackmore of Duxbury was arrested Tuesday afternoon at the Duxbury Police Station while there on a matter unrelated to the hit-and-run crash that killed Andrea Gordon.
