Two teenagers arrested for robbery and murder in South Nashville

Two teenagers were arrested in connection with the murder of another teenager during a robbery in South Nashville in January.

Metro Police report that investigators arrested 18-year-old Htet Sar in Antioch on Thursday for the murder of 18-year-old William Rafael Silva. Sar's co-defendant, 18-year-old Gabriel Melo-Beltran, was arrested Wednesday in Murfreesboro.

The investigation revealed that Silva was shot during a robbery at Tusculum Court and Ocala Drive. He was taken to Southern Hills Medical Center late that night with multiple gunshot wounds. He died shortly thereafter.

According to police, both suspects were 17 years old at the time of the murder and charges have been filed in juvenile court.

The murder occurred on January 2 and is the first murder in Nashville in the calendar year 2024.
