Police identify victim after fatal shooting outside KC home

KANSAS CITY – Police investigating a fatal shooting at a Kansas City apartment building have identified the victim as 22-year-old Terry Adrian, according to KCPD Police Capt. Jake Becchins.

Shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday, the Kansas City Fire Department responded to a medical call from the Georgian Court Apartment Complex in the 400 block of E. Armour Boulevard in Kansas City, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.

While I was at this location, a shooting occurred right outside the lobby of the apartment building.

The fire brigade on site heard the shots and called the police and additional forces.

A patient, later identified as Terry, was treated and transported in critical condition. He died a short time later, according to Kansas City police. The original medical call was handled by additional responding personnel, according to Hopkins.

Responding officers located a suspicious person near the crime scene.

After a preliminary investigation, police believe there was a confrontation between the victim and the person in question prior to the shooting. According to Hopkins, Kansas City firefighters were not in danger at the time of the shooting.
