The release is scheduled for May 6, 2025. The missing half follows two women who are haunted by the unexplained disappearance of their sisters and join forces to find out how they could have disappeared without a trace.

Flowers tells PEOPLE that the storyline was close to her heart because she wanted to “highlight the bond between sisters and also the lengths people will go to – for better or for worse – for a family member.”

“This storyline allowed me to delve deeper into the complexities of sibling relationships and how secrets can shape, strengthen or destroy them,” she explains. “I wanted to explore the nuances of loyalty and betrayal and how our closest bonds can sometimes be the most mysterious and difficult.”

Only a few months left until the book hits the shops, Crime Junkie The podcast co-host and founder of Audiochuck tells PEOPLE she's already looking forward to starting work on a third novel.
