Dirt track racing legend Scott Bloomquist dies in plane crash near his Tennessee home

Nationally touring dirt Super Late Model racer Scott Bloomquist was reportedly killed in a plane crash near his home in eastern Tennessee early Friday morning.

Authorities confirmed to the Rogersville Review that Bloomquist died in the crash.

Fans reacted to the news with sadness.

The Dirt Network tweeted

We will miss his demeanor, his mystique, his odd sense of humor, his keen technical flair, and the competitor who was… the man… the myth… the legend. Rest in peace, Scott Bloomquist… we will miss you.

And the account “nascarcasm” said

There is a level of pure, uncompromising cool that humanity will never again achieve.

Scott Bloomquist was even better. Rest in peace, legend.
