Dorchester County woman allegedly received $28,000 in fraudulent SNAP benefits

DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) – A woman has been charged by the South Carolina Department of Social Services with fraudulently obtaining more than $28,000 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits.

According to a press release, 34-year-old Keondra LaCourtney Willaims-Jackson of Dorchester County is accused of fraudulently obtaining or using more than $10,000 in food stamps.

An affidavit states that Williams-Jackson knowingly failed to report her husband and his income on 12 certification and recertification forms between January 2018 and December 2022. As a result, the state alleges Williams-Jackson received too much welfare in the amount of $28,063.

Williams-Jackson was taken to the Dorchester County Detention Center. A photo of the detention center was not immediately available.
