Odell Beckham Jr. hits back because Dolphins fan fears his injury

Odell Beckham Jr. already feels at home in his new home.

While Miami's new receiver recovers from injuries that landed him on the physically unable to perform list, he took the time to hit back at a Dolphins fan who expressed skepticism about his health, alluding to the team's infamous signing of Will Fuller V.

“I'm sooo curious why the f*** people are so curious about me,” Beckham wrote on X on Wednesday night. “I've been chilling and working in the dark and our world still finds a way to just need shit to get clicks.”

Fuller signed a one-year, $10.6 million deal with Miami in 2021, but suffered a broken thumb in Week 4 that ended his season. He was not re-signed and has not signed with any other team since.

Beckham subsequently responded to the same account, stating that his priority was the people at the Dolphins facility.

“Oh nice! Yeah I guess just keep posting rubbish for clicks and then the answers should definitely appear?” Beckham wrote sarcastically. “Anyway, everyone here knows what's going on (the team and people in this building). Time will tell what's going on and how the rest of the story turns out. Thanks for your concern.”

The 31-year-old signed a one-year, $3 million deal with Miami in the offseason, but has yet to practice or play in a preseason game as the regular season approaches.

“He’s working on getting back on the field,” head coach Mike McDaniel said Wednesday.

The former Rookie of the Year didn't look quite as dynamic during his one-year stint with the Ravens in 2023, finishing the season with 35 catches for 565 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games.

After winning Super Bowl 56 with the Rams – a game in which he caught a touchdown but tore his ACL in the process – Beckham was unable to quite match the outstanding level of play he had at the start of his career.

The three-time Pro Bowler missed the entire 2022 season due to his injury and is expected to be the third option for Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa behind players like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

In fact, Beckham has not even collected 45 catches or 600 yards in a season with the Browns since 2019.

Miami has two more preseason games left – Saturday against the Commanders and Aug. 23 against the Buccaneers – before the regular season begins Sept. 8 against the Jaguars.
