Jason Palmer faces trial for the murder of Jessica Goodrich

A trial date has been set for late August in the murder of Worcester woman Jessica Goodrich, whose body was found at a rest stop in southeast Georgia.

The trial of Jason Palmer, 47, of Littleton, is scheduled to begin on August 26, according to the Clerk of the Superior Court in Camden County, Georgia.

According to the Superior Court filing, Palmer is charged with murder, aggravated assault, concealing the death of another person and premeditated murder, which in the state of Georgia is defined as a murder committed with either express or implied malice.

The body of 45-year-old Goodrich was discovered in a wooded area next to Roadie's Chevron Truck Stop in Woodbine, Georgia on October 8, 2022.

Camden County Sheriff's Office investigators later determined that Goodrich had been a passenger in a truck allegedly driven by Palmer.

Palmer's tractor-trailer was later found at a rest stop in Indiana and authorities notified the Indiana State Police and the U.S. Marshal's Office.

Indiana State Police troopers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on October 26. Palmer was held at the Wayne County Jail in Indiana pending extradition.

Goodrich's obituary said she was born in Worcester and left behind three sons.

The State of Georgia is represented by Attorneys Robert German and Harold R. Moroz, while Palmer is represented by Public Defenders Tobe Christopher Karrh and Danielle Snook.
