Bristol County YMCA camp counselor charged with child pornography, released on bail – Fall River Reporter

Rhode Island State Police announced today that members of the Rhode Island Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested 19-year-old Ryan Minasian of Pawtucket on Wednesday for possession of child pornography.

ICAC Task Force members recently launched an investigation into an individual distributing child pornography files over the Internet. It was determined that the Internet connection on Makin Street in Pawtucket allegedly facilitated the transmission of these files. ICAC Task Force members executed a court-ordered search warrant at Minasian's residence. Minasian was subsequently identified as the owner of the digital media containing child pornography files.

Minasian was arraigned by Judge Stephen Isherwood in Sixth Division District Court and released on $2,500 bail. Minasian was assigned a future court date and ordered not to have unsupervised contact with minors and was prohibited from accessing the Internet.

Minasian was employed as a counselor this summer at the Newman YMCA, 472 Taunton Avenue, Seekonk, Massachusetts. There is currently no evidence of inappropriate behavior with campers. While the investigation is ongoing, police are asking anyone with relevant information about Minasian to contact the Rhode Island State Police/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force at (401) 921-1170.

The Rhode Island Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force actively participates in investigations to identify individuals engaged in activities related to child exploitation. The Rhode Island ICAC Task Force is comprised of members of the Rhode Island State Police Computer Crimes Unit, investigators from the Warwick, Cranston, East Providence, Pawtucket, Portsmouth, Bristol and Middletown police departments, and special agents from Homeland Security Investigations.
