Cameron Norrie withdraws from US Open due to injury

British tennis player Cameron Norrie has withdrawn from the US Open due to an arm injury.

Norrie had to sit out the Olympics due to the injury he sustained during preparations for Paris and also canceled his participation in the Cincinnati Open this week.

He had hoped to be fit for the last Grand Slam of the year in New York, but canceled ten days before the start of the tournament.

“I have been working hard to get my body back to full health – unfortunately my forearm injury is not healing as quickly as I had hoped,” he said on Instagram.

“That's why I won't be able to play in the US Open this year. I'm going to rest a bit and recharge my batteries. I can't wait to compete like a dog again.”

This continues a miserable 2024 for Norrie, whose rankings have slipped to 46th place due to poor form.
