Man faces domestic violence charges after shooting woman in Lewiston, police say

LEWISTON, Maine (WMTW) – A Massachusetts man faces multiple charges, including domestic violence, in connection with a shooting in Lewiston that left a woman seriously injured, police in the Maine city said.

According to Lewiston police, the shooting occurred around 2 a.m. Friday at 100 Blake Street, where officers found a 46-year-old woman with a serious gunshot wound.

Officers rendered aid to the woman and transported her to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Police said the victim is expected to survive.

Sirwarrior Greene, 34, of Worcester, was arrested during the shooting investigation and charged with domestic violence, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon by an unauthorized person, reckless handling of a firearm and tampering with evidence.

According to police, Greene was taken to the Androscoggin County Jail, where he is being held without bail pending his court date.

Investigators seized a handgun in connection with the shooting. Authorities said the weapon had previously been reported stolen.

Lewiston police said there was no danger to the public.
