Police say San Francisco's “habitual drug dealer” was caught with 8 pounds of meth, 2 pounds of cocaine and 13 weapons

SAN FRANCISCO – Police went to a local home on a tip that someone had uploaded child pornography to a Dropbox account, but they ended up finding much more, court records show.

While searching a Potrero Hill home in the 800 block of Arkansas Street, police reportedly discovered approximately eight pounds of methamphetamine, two pounds of cocaine, 100 grams of heroin, 17 grams of fentanyl and 13 firearms, as well as an unknown amount of ammunition and firearm accessories.

Three people were present in the house during the search, but one of them, Rodney Williams, allegedly spoke up and told police that “everything in the house” was his. He later referred to himself as a “common neighborhood drug dealer,” the criminal complaint states.

Williams, 54, is now in Santa Rita Jail facing drug possession and illegal weapons charges, and could face more charges. During the search, he also admitted to having child sexual abuse material on his phone, according to the indictment, and police say an “initial review” of his phone confirmed that.

According to police, Williams has five previous convictions for a serious crime. The oldest conviction was in 1993 for assault with a firearm and the most recent conviction was in 2017 for sending harmful material to minors. According to the indictment, the weapons included six pistols, a shotgun and six rifles.

Williams is currently being held without bail, but court records show he is scheduled to appear in court next Tuesday so a judge can decide if he is eligible for release.
