Man sentenced to more than 30 years in prison for murder in Duluth

DULUTH, Minnesota (Northern News Now) – A Duluth man was sentenced Friday for his role in an August 2023 murder.

Sanussi Bangoura, 22, was sentenced to over 30 years in prison for aiding and abetting premeditated murder, aiding and abetting second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and drive-by shooting.

On August 2, 2023, Bangoura and Brandon Williams-Gillard shot 19-year-old Paris Kadin Allen and a group of other men multiple times from a vehicle, killing Allen and injuring Caleb Reinolt-Nemec.

In April, Williams-Gillard was sentenced to 40 years in prison for aiding and abetting premeditated murder, aiding and abetting assault with a dangerous weapon and drive-by shooting.

“This senseless murder has impacted far more than just West Second Street in Duluth,” said District Attorney Maki. “The survivors of the shooting are forever changed – Paris Allen lost his life and days after the final guilty verdict in the case, Paris Allen's father took his own life, heartbroken,” Maki continued. “Today we think of the Allen family. Tomorrow and every day after that, we hope that the irrational gun violence in our community will end.”
