Crime Stoppers Alert: Off-duty APD officer killed in hit-and-run; investigators seek clues

Albuquerque –

On August 14, 2024, at approximately 12:45 a.m. near the intersection of Coors and Chapulin Road Southwest, off-duty APD Officer Bianca Quintana was struck and killed by a vehicle.

As the investigation continues, investigators with the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office now believe a Volkswagen vehicle was involved in the incident. However, the exact details regarding the year, model and color of the vehicle are still under investigation. The BCSO is currently reviewing all available evidence to determine the exact vehicle involved.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for assistance. BCSO is asking anyone with video footage from Coors Blvd south of Rio Bravo to check their surveillance systems and report any information that may assist in the investigation.
