Buffalo Bills LB Dorian Williams is ready to step in against Milano after his injury

PITTSBURGH, PA (WKBW) — Ready or not, following the injury to Buffalo Bills linebacker Matt Milano, it's time for fellow linebacker Dorian Williams to step in.

“I feel ready,” Williams said.

If you ask his coaches and teammates, they think the same

“I see someone who is ready,” said cornerback Taron Johnson.

“Dorian will do a good job,” said head coach Sean McDermott.

“I'm sure you see it, but when 42 runs, someone gets hit,” said defensive end AJ Epenesa.

More playing time due to Milano's injury is not the way he wanted to get the job, but thanks to the many experienced players around him and his time on the field last season, he feels more than prepared.

“We came here to be the next man up. We have to do our part, and coach Bobby (Babich) does that well,” Williams said.

McDermott preaches the 1/11 mentality to his players and now everyone has to embody it more than ever.

“It's not just his time to prove himself, but also for all of his teammates around him,” McDermott said. “It's not just one person's job to fill the void left by Matt. It's time for our team to look forward with determination.”

Although Milano won't be on the field for the foreseeable future, he fortunately provided Williams with insight and knowledge that has stuck with the linebacker in his sophomore year.

“Keep track of your keys. That's something he always told me: You can simplify anything, keep track of your keys and everything will come to you,” Williams said.

Williams and the rest of the Bills defense will take the field on Saturday night in Pittsburgh for the second preseason game against the Steelers.
