New details released on hit-and-run accident that left APD officer dead

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office has released new details about a hit-and-run crash that killed an off-duty Albuquerque police officer.

According to police, Bianca Quintana was killed in an accident near Coors and Chapulin on Wednesday. The car fled the scene.

On Friday, BCSO said the vehicle involved was a newer model Volkswagen, but the model and color are currently unknown.

They are asking anyone in the area who has video footage from Coors Boulevard south of Rio Bravo to check their surveillance systems and report any findings that may assist in the investigation.
