Ecotourism and green attractions in South Korea: Travel and culture guide 2024 published

Ever Wonder Adventure has released a report on ecotourism in South Korea, covering tourism activities from Seoul to Seoraksan National Park and Suwan, a UNESCO World Heritage city.

Eco-friendly tourism offers travelers ways to explore the wonders of nature without harming delicate ecosystems. This new report from Ever Wonder Adventure explores eco-friendly methods for exploring South Korean attractions, from ancient forests to sprawling castles.

The new report explains how tourists can experience several eco-friendly adventures right in the city without leaving Seoul. One of the most popular attractions for eco-tourists is Seoul Forest, which spans 595,000 square meters and is known for its cherry blossoms in spring and its gingko tree forest in autumn.

Ever Wonder Adventure also highlights Cheonggyecheon Stream, a 10km waterway that runs through central Seoul and has several attractions along its length. At night, visitors can follow Cheonggyecheon Stream to see the Candle Fountain or visit the wishing wells of Palseokdam, built using stones from each of South Korea's 8 provinces.

Travelers should also visit Seoul City Hall to see the Green Wall Vertical Forest, which consists of more than 70,000 plants. This vertical green space reaches up to the 7th floor, making it about the size of a football field, and is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest vertical garden in the world.

The full report also looks at several popular destinations outside of Seoul, such as the city of Gyeongju, where visitors can tour ancient palaces, temples and burial mounds. Sometimes called the “museum without walls,” Gyeongju is said to have more visible ruins, temples and historical artifacts than any other place in the country.

Ever Wonder Adventure's detailed report highlights places with political history, year-round hiking trails, and UNESCO World Heritage sites. Ecotourists will also find detailed information on how to travel around South Korea without leaving a negative impact on the environment.

South Korea is a popular destination with many unspoiled attractions and Ever Wonder Adventure encourages all visitors to make eco-friendly choices during their stay. The full report includes details on sustainable accommodations, eco-friendly packing suggestions and strategies for leaving no trace.

An excerpt from the full report states: “From the bustling streets of Seoul to the hidden gems beyond, South Korea offers a smorgasbord of eco-friendly experiences that appeal to both adventurous souls and culture lovers.”
