Former England captain and world champion declared bankrupt, he is not the only one in financial difficulties – Page 3 of 3

Lawrence Dallaglio

Dallaglio has followed in the footsteps of Wilkinson and Dawson to become a well-known rugby pundit, covering the Rugby World Cup on ITV in 2011.

In addition, he is known for his philanthropic efforts and founded the Lawrence Dallaglio Foundation, an organization that aims to empower young people through sports and supports foundations for youth suffering from cancer through fundraising.

Ben Cohen

Cohen ended his rugby career with Sale Sharks, having also previously played for Northampton Saints and French club Brive. An inspirational activist, the former winger founded the Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation in 2011, which works to raise awareness of the effects of bullying and “do real work to stop it”. Cohen is a leading LGBTQ+ rights campaigner and was inducted into the National Gay and Lesbian Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.

Cohen is clinically deaf due to a hearing problem called tinnitus. He has around 30% of his hearing in both ears and is a campaigner to make rugby more accessible to the hearing impaired. Cohen met his partner Kristina Rihanoff on the TV show Strictly Come Dancing and the couple now have a daughter together. Cohen has appeared in numerous reality TV shows including The Jump and The Celebrity Chase and has worked with the charity Sports Relief.

Steve Thompson

Since retiring, two of England's winning strikers of 2003 have gone down different paths. Hooker Thompson opted for a change in lifestyle and moved to Dubai. At 45, he has taken on ambassadorial roles for the Christina Noble Children's Foundation and been appointed sports ambassador for Transguard, a security and facilities management services company.

However, Thompson's journey took a poignant turn when he was diagnosed with early-onset dementia in December 2020. In a momentous gesture, on September 23, 2021, he publicly expressed his wish to donate his brain to research into chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).

Jason Robinson

This two-play legend is regarded as one of England's finest wingers and left an indelible mark by scoring his team's only try against Australia on that historic occasion. He has since returned to rugby league and now serves as coach and joint operations manager for the Jamaica national team.
