Freedom in motion: Chanel's revolutionary Haute Joaillerie Sport collection

Chanel takes on this challenge with a collection of 80 pieces divided into seven chapters: Graphic Line, Chanel Print, Quilted Icons, Sporty 5, Gold Slider, Sweater Sport and Collector Sport. Freedom of movement is best illustrated in the Sweater Sport chapter, which presents the collection's most striking and innovative element: a tubular necklace called the “Sport Cord.”

This element is similar to the cord often found on sportswear, which is used to tighten the waist and neckline. Specially developed by Chanel's Haute Joaillerie atelier, the sports cord is a twisted chain of interconnected tubes that offers flexibility and creates unusual silhouettes rarely seen in the realm of Haute Joaillerie. In one of the sweater necklaces, for example, the sports cord pierces a necklace and appears like the ends of a cord adorned with 11 emerald-cut emeralds with a total weight of 37.18 carats. These cords can be detached from the necklace and worn as earrings, with or without emeralds. In several other earring designs, the sports cord allows the earrings to swing and shimmer with each turn of the head, giving the pieces a rare dynamism.
