Geneva man arrested for violating court order; faces felony charges

According to Geneva police, a man from Geneva was arrested on Wednesday for violating a court protection order.

Thomas J. Lanphear, 55, was arrested on Hamilton Street after officers found him in a vehicle with a person protected by a Stay Away order issued by the City of Geneva Criminal Court. The order was confirmed to be in effect at the time of the arrest.

Lanphear, who has previous convictions for criminal contempt in the past five years, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt. Officer Derek Grillone made the arrest during a routine patrol.
