Man charged with murder in Allegheny County during Monongahela standoff involving SWAT team

A Carnegie man who held off a SWAT team for hours in Monongahela on Wednesday has been charged in connection with a murder in Allegheny County.

Emmanuel Houghton, who turned 20 on Saturday, has been charged with manslaughter, robbery, conspiracy and weapons violations in connection with the Aug. 2 death of 18-year-old Jordan Geiger in Ohio Township, according to Allegheny County police.

Also charged with murder is 22-year-old Tyler Stewart, who was arrested by Pittsburgh police on Wednesday after a chase in Allegheny County that ended on Banksville Road.

Both Houghton and Stewart are being held in the Allegheny County Jail pending preliminary arraignment, police said.

Houghton faces several charges in Washington County in connection with Wednesday's incident, including attempted murder, aggravated assault, fleeing from an officer and receiving stolen goods.
