2. Representative Rosa DeLauro from Connecticut

DeLauro shocked Congress by getting a tattoo at age 80 after one of her six grandchildren convinced her to get matching tattoos for her 18th birthday.

The design features a rose representing her first name, and a petal in the center forms the letter “D” for her last name. It also includes a stylized version of Italy, a tribute to the country her father emigrated from, said Daniel Robillard, DeLauro's press assistant.

Robillard said this is her first tattoo, but she will likely get more.

“I have four more grandchildren who aren't even 18 yet,” she said, “so keep an eye out for more new tattoos!”

3. Senator John Fetterman from Pennsylvania

Fetterman revealed to NBC that by 2022 he will have nine tattoos on his right forearm alone.

“Every single day represents a day that someone died a violent death in Braddock, Pennsylvania during my tenure as mayor,” he wrote.

One of his first tattoos reads 06/01/06, the date on which “Christopher Williams was shot while delivering pizza.”

“This was a man my age at the time. He had a 12-year-old daughter. I just couldn't get over the fact that he would never come home to her again,” he said.

Fetterman also has Braddock's zip code – 15104 – tattooed on his right arm.

4. Former Pennsylvania State Representative Brian Sims

Sims, a former member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, has a tattoo on the inside of his arm that features a quote from Ben Franklin: “Be courteous to all, sociable to many, intimate with few, be a friend to one, an enemy to none.”

“I represent a large portion of Ben Franklin's first district when he was Pennsylvania's first Speaker of the House,” he wrote on X. “These are some of his first words as Speaker (in the font of the New Farmer's Almanac).”

5. Former Governor Sarah Palin

The former governor of Alaska has a small tattoo on the inside of her right forearm, which can be seen in her Instagram posts. What it says is unclear.

The former Republican candidate for vice president is also said to have a tattoo of the Big Dipper on her ankle.

6. Former North Carolina Representative Madison Cawthorn

7. Senator from Virginia, Danica Roem

According to the Washington Post, Roem has an equal rights amendment tattooed on her arm.

The former journalist said she had “always wanted to get a tattoo at some point” and that it was a “very special moment” for her to get the tattoo the day before the final vote.

Roem, a transgender woman, said it was her “fundamental belief in equality for all” and that it was “really and literally a part of me.”
